The Company's policy is to provide a common sense approach to solving
potential or existing moisture related problems.
Airgenix's inspectors
are Certified Building Science Investigators through the Building
Science Institute, which was established specifically for inspectors
who specialize in building inspections for moisture intrusion and
water damage. We are also certified residential building inspectors through the International Code Council.
The primary focus of an
inspection is to look for moisture intrusion within buildings and
potential contaminates. The outcome of the investigation
is to provide documented conditions and suspected causation of moisture/water
intrusion along with suggested recommendations to correct the problem.
The
inspection includes, but is not limited to:
- A full, nondestructive, visual inspection of suspect areas,
and recording any anomalies or evidence of moisture intrusion
- Document moisture
content in suspect areas
- Recording ambient
air temperature and relative humidity
- Sampling for suspect contaminates
is suggested in order to establish present conditions, and to
assist in determining the extent of the damage
- A thermographic
imaging camera may be used to help find trapped moisture
- Airgenix can
provide a remediation protocol and final testing, as well as
project supervision for any repair or removal of water damaged
material
- The inspector
does not perform destructive inspections, including opening wall cavities, during
their initial investigation, unless specified
- If remediation
or restoration is required, a contractor who specializes
in that type of work would be recommended
- Problems detected
in specialized fields, i.e. structural, roof, plumbing, are
deferred to an expert in that field. We can help with referrals
for these specialty services
